What is the number of keys vehicle knew before your started the procedure, and after it? According to the log you posted, the numbers are 3 and 3. The successful messages from FORScan mean that PCM said OK when you programmed the key, however if the number of keys known is not changed, it means it was not really added. It is very weird.

More questions;

1. What is the blank key you use? is it of right type?
2. What is the engine type?
3. Any 3rd party equipment (for example 3rd party alarm system)?

Also, if someone needs a help from us urgently, it is better to address by email, because some days we have no time to read the forum...

One more thing: when new key is programmed, the master key needs to be moved far enough from the ignition lock, otherwise PATS may "feel" the master key and not the new key.

Are you sure you followed the procedure?

Your using an OEM PATS key? Not one of those clone ones?

If you started with 3 keys, and it still shows 3, you didn't program it.

We tested this function a lot on Mondeo 3 with original keys and cheap china clones, it worked fine with both types. The only thing is that it was Mondeo Duratorq-TDCi. Procedure for gasoline engines is just slightly different than for TDCi, it was tested on 1.8 Zetec (the procedure is the the same as for Duratec). We will try to test more on gasoline engines. Also, we would appreciate if you emailed you FORScan logs of your failed PATS programming session (instruction is on the Contact Us page).
